WHATEVER YOU THINK YOU KNOW ABOUT ME, IT'S NOT THE FULL STORY

Aug 20, 2022

Last week I read this quote by Alan Alda (yes, that Alan Alda).

I knew it as truth and almost giggled as I scribbled it down and tucked it away.

"The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself.

Doesn’t it just give you goosebumps? Read it over slowly, maybe a few times, and feel it.

I’m going to use it to anchor the new '12-Weeks From Awareness to Actualization' course I’m creating. If that’s puzzling, think of it like a litmus paper test. If you read the quote and felt it, if it made you tilt your head and pause, if you wanted to feel it on your tongue and in your mouth like a chef’s forkful, then it’s likely the Fall Course is for you.

The way I read it is the quote and you have the same relationship that the Fall Course and you will have. Why? Because the Fall Course wants to take you into the creative wilderness of discovery. It wants you to let go of your attachments and agendas. It wants you to trust yourself and what comes through you. It wants you, as Mr. Alda suggests, to discover yourself.

Here’s another way of looking at it.

So much of the time we create real, tangible goals. Nothing wrong with that, BUT, our goals are most often created with defined blinders on. They’re rigid, determined, and take no excuses. They don’t allow a process of discovery. Instead, they define a line to tow.

And when we can no longer tow that strict line, we criticize ourselves, lower our self-image, and judge ourselves as having failed.

What if instead, you allowed yourself to be gently guided away from strict goals and into expanded awareness? What if you suspended your judgements and started to really notice what was going on with and around you?

And what if you took all the awareness that time, patience, and curiosity brought you, and accepted it with the greater meaning it truly represented? What if it changed how you saw yourself, what you were doing, and how you were living?

And what if you received the gifts of awareness & acceptance as an extension of who you are? What if you allowed those gifts to create the best version of yourself? What if you become everything you are capable of becoming?

Now reread Mr. Alda’s quote: “The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself.”

Are you feeling it? Are you feeling like it’s time to focus on yourself and discover what you’re really all about? Not just what you want to be about? Or wish you were about? Or fear you are about?

If this feels like you, you might be one of the individuals in a small group of beautiful souls I want to guide, zoom, email, text, prompt, support, and check in with over an unfolding 12-week process this fall.

Think about it. Imagine it. And I’ll write another blog post very soon.

Love, Jonni

Did the universe conspire to bring us together, or what?

Maybe a trusted confidante dropped my name, or maybe you fell down an internet rabbit hole in search of a spiritual psychologist. Or, who knows, maybe the stars aligned and you found me on Insta. However it happened, I'm here for you. However it happened, I'm glad the universe brought us together. Ready to explore the cosmos of your inner self with a trusted confidante?
